4 Simple Steps to Start Care at Senior Vista

We know this decision wasn't easy. You've probably been researching, worrying, and wondering if adult day care is the right choice for your family.

The good news? Once you decide to visit Senior Vista, the process is straightforward, pressure-free, and designed to make you feel confident and comfortable every step of the way.

Here's exactly how it works:

STEP 1: Schedule Your Free Tour

📞 Call (954) 366-1212 or Fill Out Our Form Below

What Happens:

- You'll speak with a friendly staff member (English, Spanish, or Creole)

- We'll find a convenient time for you to visit (usually same week)

- Tours typically take 20-30 minutes

- You can bring your loved one or come alone first

What You'll See:

✓ Our facility and activity rooms

✓ Meet Maria and our caring staff

✓ Watch activities in action (if during operating hours)

✓ See where meals are served

✓ Ask all your questions

What to Bring:

✓ List of medications your loved one takes

✓ Insurance cards (Medicaid, Long-Term Care Insurance, etc.)

✓ Your questions and concerns

✓ Your loved one (if they're willing and able)

THERE'S ABSOLUTELY NO PRESSURE. This is your chance to see if Senior Vista feels right for your family.

STEP 2: Complete Simple Paperwork

📋 We Keep It Easy

If you decide Senior Vista is right for your family, we'll need some basic information to ensure we can provide the best care for your loved one.

Required Documents (We'll Help You):

✓ Medical History Form - Basic health information and conditions

✓ Medication List - What they take and when

✓ Emergency Contacts - Who to call if needed

✓ Payment Information - Private pay, Medicaid, or insurance details

✓ Consent & Release Forms - Standard care authorizations

✓ Dietary Needs/Restrictions - Allergies, preferences, special diets

Don't worry if you don't have everything:

We can help you gather what's needed. If you're working with Medicaid or insurance, we'll guide you through that process too.

MEDICAID Families:

If your loved one qualifies for Florida Medicaid Long-Term Managed Care, we'll help you navigate enrollment and handle all billing directly with your provider.

We work with:

- Simply HealthCare LTMC

- Sunshine Health LTMC

- Humana LTMC

- Florida Community Care LTMC

- Molina Healthcare LTMC

Not sure if you qualify? We'll help you find out.

STEP 3: Choose Your Start Date

📅 Flexible Scheduling That Works for You

When can they start?

Most families start care within 1-2 weeks after the tour, but we can often accommodate sooner if needed.

How many days per week?

You choose! Options include:

- 1-2 days per week (trial or part-time care)

- 3-4 days per week (most popular for working caregivers)

- 5 days per week (full-time care Monday-Friday)

You can always adjust as needed. Many families start with 2-3 days and increase once their loved one (and they!) are comfortable.

Transportation Needs?

Let us know during enrollment if you'd like door-to-door transportation.

We'll arrange pickup and drop-off times that work with your schedule.

STEP 4: First Day Success

🎉 We Make the First Day Smooth

What to Bring on Day One:

✓ Medications (in original containers with clear labels)

✓ Comfortable clothing appropriate for activities

✓ Any mobility aids (walker, wheelchair, etc.)

✓ A family photo or comfort item (optional but encouraged)

✓ Positive attitude—we'll take care of the rest!

What happens on the First Day:

7:00am - Arrival & Welcome

We'll greet your loved one warmly and help them settle in. You're welcome to stay a few minutes to help with the transition.

Morning Activities

We'll introduce them to other participants and ease them into activities at their own pace. First days often include gentle activities like music, conversation, or simple games.

Meals & Socialization

They'll enjoy breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack in our family-style dining area.

Afternoon Check-In

We'll check in with you by phone to let you know how the day is going (especially on the first day!).

6:00pm - Pickup or Transportation Home

We'll share how the day went and answer any questions.

It's Time to Feel Nervous:

Many participants are hesitant on their first day—but most warm up quickly once they see the friendly environment and engaging activities. Give it a few visits before making final judgments.

What Families Ask Before Enrolling

Q: How long does the enrollment process take?

A: Most families complete enrollment within a few days to a week after their tour. If you need to start sooner, let us know and we'll do our best to

accommodate.

Q: Can we do a trial period first?

A: Absolutely! Many families start with 1-2 days per week to see how their loved one adjusts.
There's no long-term commitment required.

Q: What if my parent refuses to come after the first day?

A: This is common! We recommend giving it at least 3-4 visits before making a decision. Most participants who resist at first end up enjoying Senior Vista once they get comfortable.
We work with families to ease transitions.

Q: Do I need a doctor's approval?

A: We'll need basic medical information, but you don't need a formal doctor's referral. If your loved one has complex medical needs, we may request

documentation from their physician.

Q: Can I change the days they attend?

A: Yes! We understand schedules change. Just give us advance notice and we'll adjust their schedule.

Q: What if I can't afford private pay?

A: Let's explore Medicaid or insurance options together. Call us at (954) 366-1212 and we'll help you determine if you qualify for coverage.

Q: How far in advance do I need to enroll?

A: We recommend calling at least 1-2 weeks before you need care to start, but we can often accommodate rush situations if space is available.

Q: Can I cancel or pause services?

A: Yes. We understand circumstances change. Just provide advance notice based

on your payment schedule.

Q: What if they have a medical emergency while in your care?

A: Our certified staff is trained in first aid and emergency response. We're located right next to HCA Northwest Medical Center. We'll contact you immediately and ensure they receive appropriate care.
